{"id":4745,"date":"2025-10-23T11:41:54","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T09:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fluidz.nl\/?p=4745"},"modified":"2025-10-23T12:03:17","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T10:03:17","slug":"optimal-cip-cleaning-7-cip-validation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fluidz.nl\/en\/optimal-cip-cleaning-7-cip-validation\/","title":{"rendered":"Optimal CIP Cleaning 7: CIP validation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>How do you validate your CIP process?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the previous 6 steps for optimal CIP cleaning, it&#8217;s time to see if you&#8217;ve been successful!<\/p>\n<p>The only way to know if your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fluidz.nl\/en\/cip-optimalisation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CIP<\/a> is working optimally is to measure it.<br \/>\nBy validating the cleaning process, you&#8217;ll know whether invisible product and chemical residues have been removed or neutralized.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Understanding CIP validation and its implementation:<\/strong><br \/>\n1) Determine your worst-case scenario: what is the most stubborn contamination with the longest standing time?<\/p>\n<p>2) Develop a measurement plan consisting of:<br \/>\na. Visual inspection of critical points,<br \/>\nb. ATP, protein, and\/or allergen test<br \/>\nc. Micro-swaps<br \/>\nd. Rinse samples<br \/>\ne. Conductivity Check<\/p>\n<p>3) Perform 3 consecutive CIP runs under worst-case conditions and measure the cleaning performance after each run.<\/p>\n<p>4) Record measurements and inspections in a logbook.<\/p>\n<p>5) Repeat the CIP validation periodically and under exceptional circumstances.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How often should you validate the CIP cleaning?<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>In case of changes:<\/strong> new products\/recipes, different viscosity\/allergen profile, line modifications, new pump\/valve, changed CIP recipes or chemicals.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>After deviations\/incidents:<\/strong> failed swab, suspected biofilm, parameter violations.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Periodically (risk-based):<\/strong> many companies validate annually.
